Harper’s Bazaar Magazine recently published an article on Dr. Jennifer Walden. If you haven’t ever heard of her you should try to get a copy of Harper’s Bazaar with this article and read it, it’s an amazing story. Dr. Walden grew up in Texas and was educated initially at the University of Texas at Austin where she received her bachelor’s degree and was accepted into medical school on a waiting list. She ended up making it into the medical school and decided on making plastic surgery her specialty. She graduated as Salutatorian of her class. She was also matched into the plastic surgery program at the University of Texas program at Galveston and was accepted to an exclusive aesthetic fellowship program at the University of Texas at Galveston. She also studied and worked in Manhattan at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. She started her own practice with her New York Mentor Dr. Sherrell Aston and stayed in Manhattan for eight years. She stayed because she began a practice in New York with her mentor Dr. Sherrell Aston. Dr. Aston was an experienced plastic surgeon who had been in Prentice for over 30 years with an international client base.
Dr. Walden has also been recognized as a leader in her field and one of the only women in the America to ever serve on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Walden is also a published author and an award-winning surgeon.
Dr. Walden was born in the Northwest Hills Neighborhood of Austin, Texas. Her father was a Dentist and her Mother was a surgical nurse which is where she got the initial introduction to medicine and medical practice. Her parents put great value into education and achievement. All of this education and her parent’s influence went a long way into making Jennifer the kind of caring person and doctor she is today. After her schooling and practice in New York, she decided she wanted to have children. Since she wasn’t married she opted for in in-vitro fertilization program.
