Born in Palestine, Dr. Saad Saad is one of eight children from a Palestinian family where his father, a skilled petroleum mechanic, moved them to Kuwait in his childhood years. As a child, Dr. Saad Saad’s father encouraged him to work hard in his education as they were refugees in Kuwait and had no passport or links to the country.
His decision to become a pediatric surgeon came about when he was still in high school and visited a construction site with his brother when he fainted due to the hot weather of Kuwait. For this reason, Dr. Saad set his mind that he wanted to work in an air-conditioned room, which ultimately made him choose the medical field. His dreams were materialized when he went to Cairo University Medical School based in Egypt where he graduated with honors before doing his internship in England. He then enrolled for his residency in the United States and eventually settled in New Jersey.

Dr. Saad Saad believes that one can choose to be successful if you put it to mind as he says that if as poor Palestinian he was able to make it so can anyone else who wants to succeed. Dr. Saad Saad ’s refugee status while at Kuwait, made him work harder as he knew he would be anything he wanted to be with education and knowledge, which eventually made him a successful doctor. Further, the doctor gives another of his life lesson that helped him to accomplish his goals by completing every day’s task without procrastination. He attributes this daily habit as one of the ways that have made him productive over the years as he served in his medical career.
What’s more, it was due to Dr. Saad’s zeal in his work that made him be one of the few certified U.S. board registered pediatric surgeons during the 1980s. As a result, the doctor got one of the most prestigious positions when he was hired by the Saudi Arabia royal family as their children’s pediatric surgeon where he held the position until 1989. Upon his return to the United States, the doctor worked on developing new procedures that would see him patent two of his successful invention in the medical sector. Dr. Saad started by helping find a shortened process of the recovery time and reduction of pain to his young patients by eliminating the second incision procedure that has currently been adopted on over 2000 children already.

Further to finding the shortened recovery processes for his patients, Dr. Saad Saad also made a major medical improvement that helped in pediatric care. In his career, the doctor directed his energies on improving the existing medical procedures as he believes that medical professionals should always seek better and safer processes for better treatment to patients. The doctor first improved the endoscope by developing it with a suction device that helped on clearing the fog on the lenses when inserted to the body, hence eliminating the process of re-inserting it back to the patient. His second patent was on the new improved electromagnetic catheter with a magnetic device that eliminated the need for X-Rays or MRI that were longer processes in locating the catheter.
