Food Industry Food Producer

OSI Group is an American company that has long been known for its production of protein-based food products. It is one of the largest food manufacturers in the United States. OSI has many of the leading companies in the fast food industry as its customers. When the firm’s biggest customer asked them to supply a meatless burger, OSI was more than happy to help. An announcement was recently made that OSI Group has entered into a partnership agreement with Impossible Foods. The agreement laid out a plan for OSI to co-manufacture the Impossible Burger with food manufacturer Impossible Foods. The young California-based company was founded in 2011.

Its current CEO and the founder of Impossible Foods is Pat Brown. His mission when he started his company was to encourage others to eat less meat. Brown is a chemist, and he created a meat-free burger that tastes just like a popular hamburger but contains no meat. Impossible Foods supplies its soy-based product to numerous restaurants and fast food companies. Burger King started to offer its Impossible Whopper at the beginning of the year. As a result of this newly established relationship between the two firms, OSI Group will now be able to supply the best Impossible Burger to McDonald’s.

McDonald’s is now offering its version of the Impossible Burger in its restaurants across the United States. The chain was launched in thr 1950s, and OSI Group has been supplying its hamburger patties since the first restaurant was opened in Chicago. The multi-national OSI headquarters are located in nearby Aurora. In the 1950s, the company was operating as a family-owned butcher shop in the area. McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc met the family and was impressed with the quality of their meat. That chance meeting was a pivotal turning point for OSI Group. The organization supplies a variety of consumables to McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway, Starbucks, Papa John’s, and more food service companies. The original owner and founder was a butcher whose sons later took over the family business. Today, OSI employs 20,000 people in over 17 countries. The CEO of OSI is Sheldon Lavin. Click here.
